Here are a few tips if you’re preparing for a retreat
There are a few themes from the reflections people have kindly written after retreating at The Space. I think they are worth sharing.
Getting here is an achievement in itself. Often people have to make quite a few arrangements at home or at work to find a day to retreat. It’s worth it though to feel that sense of arrival, peace settling on you, and a whole day ahead just to yourself.
It’s good to know that the practicalities are covered so you only have to bring yourself. The Space is all set up, warm, cosy, and well-equipped. There is tea, coffee and milk supplied but bring your own food or order ahead from Open House Deli
It’s quite unusual to have a day with nothing particular to do, so ease into it. People comment that it takes a while to unwind so settle in and get used to your own company.
You may want to snooze. Go ahead, the bed and sofa are comfy spots.
If you want to get creative with drawing there is plenty of stationery, flipchart paper and pens.
Have a browse through the shelves of books and maps for inspiration.
You could go for a walk. There are footpaths and bridleways right from the door.
If you are here to focus on something specific, it is a quiet spot and you won’t be interrupted.
And if you would value talking through your reflections, to hear yourself think out loud, then please do book an hour's coaching with me.
Go home slowly, it’s worth thinking about how to arrive back into every day life and prepare for it.
